biventricular mural thrombi in patients with dilated cardiomyopathies: case reports and review
نویسندگان
چکیده
discussion there are other causes of dilated cardiomyopathies which could be transient like peripartum cardiomyopathy. the development of biventricular mural thrombi is rare, and it mainly increases the risk of embolization in the systemic and pulmonary circulations. case presentation we present two case reports of post-myocardial infarction sequel leading to ischemic cardiomyopathy and peripartum cardiomyopathy leading to biventricular mural thrombi formation and provide a brief review of literature regarding their etiopathogenesis and management. introduction the combination of the aging of the population and improved survival after acute myocardial infarction has created a rapid growth in the number of patients currently living with chronic heart failure, with a concomitant increase in morbidity and mortality.

EMBOLIC phenomena occur with such frequency in the course of bacterial endocarditis as to constitute a cardinal diagnostic feature of this disease. However, it has been noted that the resultant infarcts are less often septic than would be expected if the emboli originated from the infected valvular vegetations.' A previous study of this apparent paradox showed that it is the nonbacterial thromb...
متن کاملHearing Profile in Patients with Dilated and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathies
INTRODUCTION Cardiomyopathy may cause disruptions in the micro-vascular system of the stria vascularis in the cochlea, and, subsequently, may result in cochlear degeneration. Degeneration in the stria vascularis affects the physical and chemical processes in the organ of Corti, thereby causing a possible hearing impairment. The objective of this study was to assess the hearing profiles of patie...
